Kingston is renowned as the Fresh Water Sailing Capital of North America and prides itself as being the oldest City in Ontario. Located at the mouth of the St. Lawrence & Cataraqui Rivers, which is the gateway to the Thousand Islands and Lake Ontario. Kingston offers itself as a major port for scenic, entertainment cruises of The Thousand Islands.

In 1996, Kingston celebrated their 150th anniversary of incorporation as a city, featuring the combination of times past with modern tradition. Graceful limestone buildings that stand together with condominiums, have earned it the popular nickname of "Limestone City".
